As is the norm there is no Saturday garden visit conducted by the BGC in February. Instead there is, as part of the Open Garden Scheme, a lovely large tropical garden to visit on Saturday and Sunday February 11 and 12. The Crew Garden at 131 Platypus Drive, Uralba, is a lush subtropical garden featuring heliconias, gingers, frangipanis, bromeliads, calatheas, cliveas, orchids, bamboo and palms, There is also a subtropical orchard, vegies and edible plants., including pepper, yellow mangosteen and vanilla orchid. The entry fee of $10. Tea, coffee, food and interesting plants to purchase. Opening hours are 9am to 4pm.
