This month’s featured plant was the Spathyphyllum – talk by Alison Jarrett
Alison displayed different spathyphyllum (Peace Lily) plants, discussing position requirements and the hardiness of the plants.
The Peace lillies offer large shiny leaves and (where enough light is present) white spade flowers.
These plants are also very hardy.
When indoors, they provide for a tropical ambiance and help to purify indoor air space. Indoors, should the shiny foliage begin to wilt, take the pot outside, water but don't use a tray because the roots will rot.
In the garden look for a bright shady position to promote growth and flowering.
Likewise if you want the plants to flower, position the pots in a bright position.
