This month’s garden visit is to Lauren Julien’s pretty garden. Lauren says, “I moved into the house 3 years ago. It was mainly grass and slowly the whole yard has been turned into garden with decking, a pergola and paths formed. A shed was turned into a fern house.
It’s quirky with areas of interest all over. There’s a fairy garden at the front that local kids add to, alter and basically have taken over. The birds and animals are catered for with birdbaths and plant choice to create habitat.
Lots of the plants are from the garden club. Vegetables are mixed with exotics and fruit trees. Wide paths were created to ensure red earth doesn’t find its way into the house. I love being in the garden, whether it’s sitting, weeding or planting.”
