Hilary Wise talks about her favourite plant group
Hilary has had a long relationship with Bromiliads.
At first she really didn't like them - not helped by a husband who thought they were quite special
Over the years she has seen the enormous variety of forms and colour ... and now they've become her favorite plant
From the giant she is holding to the smallest grey form (pictured below)
And then there's the pineapple
And all those wonderfully coloured leaves and blooms
But best of all there are varieties that will grow in full sun, dappled shade & in dry places with no soil. Truly a best friend for the gardener.
